"インド年"を記念して生まれたデザイン

「インドの狩猟」は、フランスで開催された"インド年"を記念して制作されたと伝わるデザイン。虎・馬・象・アンテロープ、そして狩人といったインドを象徴する要素が、花や植物のモチーフとともに緻密に描き込まれています。黄・緑・青を基調にした繊細なグラデーションが、インドの豊かな自然と王侯貴族の狩猟文化を鮮やかに描き出しています。

Today, we are delighted to introduce a beautiful Hermès Carré 90, “Chasse en Inde” (Indian Hunt)—a design created as an homage to India itself.

About the Designer: Michel Duchêne

This design was created by Michel Duchêne, whom we previously introduced in Day 3 with Le Songe de Poliphile.

Duchêne was known for drawing inspiration from history and cultures around the world, translating them into intricate compositions filled with remarkable detail.

A Design Created to Commemorate the “Year of India”

Chasse en Inde is said to have been created to commemorate the “Year of India” held in France.

Tigers, horses, elephants, antelopes, and hunters—iconic elements associated with India—are intricately woven into a richly detailed scene, surrounded by flowers and foliage.

The delicate gradations of yellow, green, and blue bring the composition to life, evoking both the lushness of India’s natural landscapes and the grand tradition of royal hunting.
